Chain Link Pattern

I've been wanting to crochet a chain-link motif for quite a while - I think I first thought of doing it last winter - and I love it!  I joined this piece into a ring, but it would be so cool to make as a scarf!!!!  I'm definitely going to make another one for that purpose.

Here's how I did it using worsted weight wool yarn and a 6.0mm crochet hook:

1. Chain 25
Join into a ring and work rows in double crochet.
Cut the yarn, knot off, and weave in the ends.

2. Chain 25
Join into a ring going through the previous link.
Work two rows in double crochet.
Cut yarn, knot off, and weave in the ends.

Repeat step two until your chain is the desired length.

chains remind me of christmas ;). did you ever make chain links of construction paper when you were a kid during christmas time in school? i did. they were used for decorations.

Wow, you really do make the coolest stuff! A miniature version would be a cool bracelet too.

I have been an absent blogger of late and wanted to pipe in and tell you that I love this Chain Motif! It's adorable. I think it would make a beautiful bracelet!

Thanks,
I needed a unique scarf for my grandson, this will do the trick! No one else at school will have one like it so it will be easy for him to keep up with it. :)
