DIY Color Block Basket
This afternoon I decided to freshen up a tired old basket using paint and the current color block trend. I've been using this green basket as a planter on my porch with rosemary growing inside. The plant started to outgrow this container, so I replanted it in a larger one. Unfortunately, sitting out in the sun and rain left my little basket in sad shape.
I started the refurbishment by applying a layer of white craft paint over the entire thing.
Next I picked out a bright blue shade and painted it on the lower part of the basket. I used the reed pattern as a built-in guideline to help me paint a relatively straight line (I may have gotten a little messy, but that's ok!).
I also painted the bottom of the basket and continued with the blue on the inside, too.
My finished basket looks so much fresher and happier! I lined it with a pretty cloth napkin and am using it to store potatoes, onions, and garlic in my pantry.

I love painted baskets. I have several and use them for all kinds of things.
