{ future enormous granny square}

 I was sorting through my yarn basket yesterday and decided to use up all of the scraps and partial skeins I found tangled at the bottom.  I have a bunch of beautiful, bright colors that are mostly worsted weight cottons - all of them really soft and lovely.  My idea was to begin crocheting a granny square, adding in each new color when the old one runs out - I'm not going to pay attention to making complete rows with each color, just use it up and start with the next one.

I'll keep adding to the granny square with all of my current and future scraps (and maybe a full skein or two) until it is enormous - possibly large enough to cover my bed.  At least big enough to fold over the back of the couch for a pop of insane rainbow color : )

This is a really good idea. I have a ton of yarn that I haven't used. I might as well put it to use.

Yay for scraps! I'm using all of my scraps to make little squares for a big blanket so far I am on number 145!

Granny squares are my absolute favorite! This one is quite lovely. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Yay for crochet! ☺

I basically started the same thing! But with just blues. I have one of those big blue ikea bags full of blue yarn. acrylics, cotton and some other remnants. It is going to be around 2mx2m when it's finished. Or whenever I feel it's done... :P
